| The carrots go from the feed bulkier up a conveyor into the prewasher drum. Were water is pumped over them as the drum rotates. This removes most of the soil from the carrots. The water we use in this part of the washing process is recycled through a filter system then reused. | ![]() |
| The carrots then go from the prewash drum to the stone extractor were they pass over a trouth of fast flowing water, and the stones being heavier than the carrots sink to the bottom were they are removed by a conveyor. |

| The carrots then go into the main washing drum which is half submerged in water. The drum as a brush which rotates inside to help clean the carrots. The water in the main drum is replaced regularly. So it is always clean water. |

| The carrots are then sorted by hand to remove any brocken or split ones.
