We make a start sowing our first field of Spring Milling Wheat of the year.

10 tons of feed barley being loaded. It will be used by a local farmer who will crush it and feed it to beef cattle.

We finally made start on the first field of spring barley. The grain was coming off at around 18%

Harvesting did not last to long we got around 4 hectare's cut then the heavens opened. We had to wait till the combines were back at the yard before the rain eased to let us unload the combine grain tanks. I hope this is not a taste of what is in store for the rest of the harvest time. When I typed this I kept getting flash backs to last year.
The heads of the spring barley are know starting to ripen.
